How to enable Num Lock on Windows startup

I use an additional keyboard to enter numbers when typing. By default, in my Windows 10 Num Lock is turned off, that is, additional side keys work like arrows. I’m tired of pressing the Num Lock key every time I turn on the computer. In this article, I will tell you how to configure Windows so that the Num Lock key is activated, that is, that the additional side keys of the standard keyboard work as numbers, not arrows.
To activate Num Lock at boot, we will have to make changes to the Windows registry. Therefore, do not forget to backup and restore point.

Run the regedit.exe registry editor, for example by pressing the [Win] + [R] keys at the same time:

Open the bush (branch) HKEY_USERS \ .Default \ Control Panel \ Keyboard :

And check the value of the InitialKeyboardIndicators parameter .
Depending on your operating system, you may have different values. To enable Num Lock you need to add 2 to the value of InitialKeyboardIndicators and save.
Num lock offNum lock on
Windows XP02
Windows 7, 8, 8.121474836482147483650
Windows 1080,000,00080000002
My Windows windows 10 has the same value as windows 7 or 8.1 key, I changed the value 2147483648 to 2147483650 . If your windows has diffrent key then change value according to the table.

After making changes to the Windows registry, you need to restart the computer.
Now, when loading, the Num Lock indicator will light, and the keys of the additional keyboard block will work as numbers, not arrows.
